Wear a life jacket and secure it before kayaking to keep you safe.
To enter the water from shore, find a calm, rock-free area.
Pull the kayak to the shore by holding on to the strap in the front of the kayak.
Lower the kayak so the cockpit is over the water’s edge.
Scoot into the cockpit and stretch your feet out.
Use your paddle and body weight to push yourself.
